What i’ve learned in my early 20’s + my 25th birthday

April 8, 2019
  1. Trust in the Lord with ALL (not just a little) of your heart
    • I have to constantly stop myself from trying to take control over my life. I find myself telling God, “I trust you with this, but not that because I am doing this the way I want.” For example: God show me what job you want me to have, but I will take care of everything else (finances, relationships, rest).
    • The only way I can keep my whole heart open is to talk to God everyday. I write it down just like he is right next to me having a conversation. This really helps me keep my heart and focus where they need to be. When I miss a day or two, or a week of it I CAN TELL!
  2. Don’t be nervous, BE YOURSELF
    • A little nerves can mean that you care a lot which is good but don’t ever let nerves keep you from doing something. Most of the time nobody else involved is worried about you making a mistake so just be yourself.
  3. Get dressed up even with nowhere to go
    • Whatever you do to make yourself presentable, for me it is brush/fix my hair and do my makeup, do it everyday even if you don’t have a place to go. Some days feeling presentable is just exfoliating my face and piling on moisturizer.
    • I find that I have more energy and can get more done when I feel ready to take on anything. Part of feeling ready is having at least a little color on my face! #palelife 😀
  4. Be careful with expectations
    • As I sit here typing Eric and I are trying to decide where we want to eat out tonight. We had talked all day about getting Backyard Pizza. I LOVE Backyard so much so I was really looking forward to it (side note: my perfect pizza there would be 1/2 classic pepperoni + 1/2 milano with a side of roasted romaine wedge salad). Well, we waited too long to order and THEY WERE CLOSED! We forgot they close at 3pm on Sundays so we spent 30+ minutes trying to decide what we wanted to eat because the expectations I had in my mind made nothing else sound good.
    • I know that is about food (of course) lol. But when you have expectations about anything BE CAREFUL! Especially when it comes to big life moments like new jobs, weddings, honeymoons, concerts, birthdays, first impressions…etc. It can ruin experiences or even just put an unnecessary damper on them.
  5. Apologize
    • Embarrassingly, this is really hard for me. I am not good at admitting when I am wrong either. Trying to work on both things but I think a a sincere sorry can go a really long way in relationships. ACTUALLY, Tori Kelly played one of her new songs and the lead line is “Sorry can go a long way..” I mean are her and I meant to be best friends or what? We are in sync! LOL

For my birthday Eric and my friends Justin and Sarah planned a weekend away in Maysville. It was magical!! We went to a small Cafe in Maysville called Cafe Stone. The owners are a couple who live in Maysville. They open only every other Saturday and make everything homemade. Not only that, but almost everything comes from their farm! I recommend the chicken salad sandwich and I thought it was really fun to let them decide what coffee to make me. The caramel macchiato I had was amazing!!! They have a facebook page here if you are interested in following along!

After this we hungout around town, shopping and exploring until it came time to get ready for dinner at Ruth’s Chris! I was SO excited! My dad took us to Ruth’s Chris a long time ago and it was the most amazing experience! I think that is one of the biggest reasons I love to go there. Brings back great memories.

On my actual birthday, I cleaned and organized at home which makes me really happy! Then, Eric and I made protein blondie brownies and snuggled! It was perfect!

The next weekend my family birthday party was such a blast! We ate at a Greek Restaurant at The Market and then went to my mom and dads for presents and donuts 😀

It was a donut themed party if you can’t tell!

To sum it all it up, I am extremely blessed and fortunate to have so many people who care about me so much. I hope to never take it for granted <3

Love, Case
