Rainy day to-do ideas

  • Watch Frasier (Seattle is cozy) – watching as I write this
  • Get dressed up and do your makeup – set up a self timer and have fun
  • Make a soup or chili from whatever is in your fridge – done
  • Clean out clothes you didn’t wear last season – did some of this
  • Start a new show series – I HIGHLY recommend Bosch
  • Try a new smoothie combo – throw some kale in there 😉
  • Plan your dream home/wedding – I started a google doc and I save things off pinterest and write what the specifics about the photo. My dream home is coming together LOL
  • Try new recipes – I’ve tried Jojo’s biscuits, cinnamon rolls, new salad dressings, pasta combos, fruit/cheese/nut combos, toast creations..
  • Learn a new hobby – photography, instrument, baking, painting..See below for why I love having photography as a hobby

I also recommend making Meredith Wellman’s from Simply Wellman, tomato soup and grilled cheese. TO DIE FOR! The sourdough in the cast iron skillet was a game changer!

I have talked to so many people during this quarantine about how they are feeling daily. The consensus was some days “great, like I can do so many things” and other days “I just don’t want to do anything.” So, if you have been feeling the same way, take heart, you’re note alone.

I love a rainy day to snuggle up and watch movies but what a difference the sun shine can make. Yesterday and today have been so gloomy. I did not see the sun one time yesterday.. It did affect my motivation and I had to try hard not to get down. Luckily I have a full schedule of patients to meet with while working at home that helps so much to interact with and be able to help them.

Photography: why I love it

I genuinely get excited when I get a photo with the most amazing sun flare. Sunrise and sunset are my favorite times to take photos because of all the different ways the light can change a photo. It’s also fun because you’re on a timer – the light is constantly changing. Iphones do a really good job at capturing light during these times but I can get a much more crisp image with my camera. Manual setting is what I use most often (ISO 200-400, F 5.6 or less).

I promise I don’t take pictures of myself because I love the way I look.  It just brings me so much joy to create an outfit and take cool photos of it. Trying new poses, editing hues, and angles is fun to me. I like to pretend like I am walking down the street at new york fashion week sometimes.. What is wrong with that? LOL Hobbies are fun!
