What August 2019 taught me..

December 3, 2019
  1. Being a dog mom is hard work but very snuggly
  2. Take/make time to be quiet with nothing going on
  3. Make plans and stop saying “one day” or “soon” so much

Keep scrolling to see why 😉

Weekend #1: Cleveland, OH

When we left for this trip Eric and I realized this was our first time staying away together on a trip. Our first time staying in an Airbnb was SO COOL! We got there late Friday night and the apartment was over top of a pet store. We drove by it so many times because we couldn’t see the door that the Airbnb description said to find. We got the key from a little lockbox that was practically invisible. It was fun because it was almost like solving a mystery to find our place. There was also a bar right under us where people stood outside all hours of the night talking and yelling but we didn’t mind.

First thing there I was searching restaurants and coffee shops on Yelp. We walked around Ohio city and had the best time.  It was so nice not having to drive everywhere.

Before the Jon Bellion concert we went to the Lake Erie marina area and I was blow away by the beauty. There were weeping willows; the wind was so strong and crisp. We were in heaven – could have sat on those rocks forever, but I was getting sun burnt…

The Jon Bellion concert was right on the water at the best concert venue I have ever been to, Jacob’s Pavilion. At one point, a HUGE freight boat was leaving the port right behind the stage. The energy at Jon Bellion’s show was like being at a One Direction concert in their prime. His talent is so unique. On our way home we got to stop at Eric’s uncles house and visit with them. Eric planned the entire weekend and he did good.

This is where we stayed — Air bnb

Soho Chicken + Whiskey – best biscuits and herbed butter of my life.

Found a vintage thrift shop and looked around for hours! So many cool things 🙂

The struggle was real for this person trying to paddle board..

Phoenix Coffee Company – got an iced vanilla latte with no sugar/cream. Next day got the full work up – hot vanilla latte with cream + sugar. Such a cozy place.

Momocho – the most unique mexican I have ever had. The guacamole and ceaser drizzled broccoli was my favorite.

Eric living it up at the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame. Unfortunately we didn’t have a lot of time to spend here but it was neat getting to look around!

Brassica is what I like to describe as Chipotle times 10. The homemade hummus, tzatziki sauce and french fries are out of this world.

Weekend #2: Nashville

Going to see our friends in Nashville was something we had been trying to do for months. We finally planned it and headed that way. Taylor and I talked about getting tattoos together the night of my wedding…We knew we wanted something small and special to us. We had in our minds “this is the weekend, were doing it!” I mean we had talked about it for over a year! Lol

Taylor spent so much time researching and messaging artists to find one who would use single needles. We found our guy but he was off work the day we needed to get an appointment. It was our last day there and because he was off we just figured it wasn’t our time to join team tatted. Then, he messaged back and said he would come in to the studio just for us…..We immediately started freaking out, screaming was involved. Eric was very chill and decided to get one with us.

There were people getting murals on their bodies beside us and we were getting cross tattoos that took 20 seconds. I can’t tell you how many sharpie crosses we drew all over us that weekend LOL.

Why a cross? We always want to remember what Jesus did for us on the cross – she and I have so many good memories growing up in church together. To us, our tattoos really mean so more than we can explain.

We spent so much time talking, hanging out and just relaxing together. We hadn’t got to do that in a very long time. If there is a friend you haven’t seen in a while, get plans in place now and don’t let anything get in the way! <3

Cash has no sensitivity to personal space. So cuddly and precious!

Eric’s first time eating at biscuit love before we hit the road to head home 🙂

Weekend #3/4#: Marco Island

Going on vacation with the Riley family never disappoints, LOL. We always have an absolute blast. Normally everyday is planned out but this time we just took it day by day and focused on RELAXATION. After the last summer of wedding craziness it was nice to get back to normal family vaca. We laughed , swam, napped on the beach, ate out, cooked in, got silly, talked life, drank coffee, dressed up, chilled out. I loved getting to spend some time taking pictures and relaxing. Showing some of my favorite moments here!

Me under the umbrella and the entire fam out roasting in the sun..LOL

Just out of bed morning hugs..
